On the third day already is the queen stage of the Carnian Höhenweg. It is not only the longest stretch (walking time 8 hours, about 16 kilometers). The stage is also of the view and the terrain the best, because you almost all day walking on the ridge. Initially, after the rise of the New Porzehütte, we walk in the fog, which fortunately photographed more quickly. Then holding the stage up to its promise. Perfect weather, gorgeous views of the surrounding peaks. Only the last bit less fun. First, there is endless downhill to Ingridalm a real pain, and then a bit up to the day's destination, the high white stone house. 
Next First day we leave the main ridge. The road leads on the Italian side down in a valley, it is initially steep, then gently downhill. A whole new perspective, the ridges once again visible from below. But today the sun is particularly strong, especially at a lower altitude, the heat is noticeable, the sweat flowing. Good thing we care for them with water, especially as it goes uphill again, through the flowering mountain meadows Giramondopass. Back in Austria, repeated the image of the previous day: a long (but much more pleasant) descent, followed by a final, fairly steep climb to Wolayer lake cottage. This is probably the most idyllic hut the entire route and a jump in the lake can forget heat and sweat. However, I feel it in the water is not long, too cold! But how good!
