Huhu dear ones!

Here again a small sign of life, together with the last impressions of the beautiful Rio.
I noticed that I have not even written the last time how much I think Rio yet. The City provides just the right mix of everything. There are mountains, Lakes, beach and sea, greenery and sooo many recreational and cultural activities. I can walk to work and also so you can reach on foot a lot. And yet this is when you behave inconspicuously not absolutely dangerous. Just the perfect city! :-)
Last weekend I spent completely alone and that was kind of nice sometimes. Saturday morning I got my bread and eggs retrieved and made me a good breakfast corresponding to the circumstances. Against the early afternoon I drove to the historic and Nationalmueseum've spent there 3 hours. Since I was not even alone, the nice man audio guide me talk very well and me very much about the Brazilian Story. After that I wanted a little more in the area running around, but since then has held a bus next to me and is driven to the Copacabana, I'm just mitgefahren. It was not relaxing, because the bus driver wanted to talk all the time with me, but at least I was able to travel for free ... Up to the Rio Sul Shopping Center, where I somehow wanted to go all the time before, but that alone was somehow not as exciting and it was almost dark, so I went home. Sunday was much more relaxed. To 1, I went to the beach in the sun, but it was way too hot, so I am in a bar and a set Agua de Coco drunk and Newsweek from my flatmate read ... probably saw the damn European. No Brazilian would ever get the idea to sit in a bar and read, much less the whole thing to do alone. I am still a bit long run on the beach and I've still put under a palm tree and read further. Then I was eating sushi at the supermarket and drink afterwards still on the way home some juice.
Yes, and this weekend I was traveling for almost only in the company. I did on Wednesday night Jenny, my predecessor of internship, met and we got along great right away and immediately planned our first trip together. On Saturday morning it was "Off to Petrópolis". Petrópolis is a totally cute Place in the mountains, about 80km away from Rio and former summer residence of the imperial family We have therefore taken the morning and are moved together to Rodoviaria (bus station). Since I was still überbewältigt something, because the airport had almost character. In Fortaleza, there were also a Rodoviaria, but it was small, manageable and as a German bus terminal. In Rio, there are also shops, a food court and a right at the airport arrivals area as ... Since I was almost a bit strange. :) After we bought our tickets, we had about 20 minutes until departure 11:30. So we strolled a bit and have even indulged in an ice cream and sat there quietly, I have to at some point but once looked at the clock ... 11:27 ... RACE! Well, thanks to the Brazilian punctuality of course we have all done yet. Once in Petrópolis, we went directly first in a German cafe and we have a mega piece of cake and I indulged in a "chai" tea, unfortunately it was all different, but definitely not a Chai tea. Well after the meal we could therefore begin our tour. First stop: home of Santos Dumont, the father of aviation and the inventor of the wristwatch. Second stop: Palácio Cristal (Crystal Palace), built in France and in 1879 brought to Petro. Third Stop: Palácio da Princesa Isabel, the daughter of the imperial house. And last Stop: Museu Imperial Palace of the Emperor. It was a copper tube ............................ eaten away, then saw a couple of days when I unknowingly stepped into the laundry room heating and splashed water on my counter.

first I thought it was a defect in the washing machine until I saw that it came from the heater. As had already accumulated quite a bit of water on the floor, it had been several hours? have dripped. A nice Heating engineer explained to me that the acidic water heater was to blame. Aha. Terms such as overflow, overflow valve and polyethylene pipe me now say something. And finally I thought I'd get a little time and inclination to write. :)

Phew, the last time really is for ages ago and I do not know quite exactly where I should start. At best it will probably proceed chronologically. So from now already 2 weeks I was allowed to rise after a few complications in Fortaleza in the plane to Rio. At the airport in the Cidade Maravilhosa me I then met again with Vani and her sister Claudia and we are moved together to the hostel. This was a total flop, but after 2 nights I am drawn even in my current room at the Copacabana. A
lso I live now at Adele and I share a room with other 2 other Brazilians.

The first days we spent mainly with sightseeing. On the first day we took the cable car to the Pao de Acucar, Sugar, were at Praia Vermelha, are running to the Copacabana, and were delicious dinner at Pizza Rodizio. I already know that I will miss the total in Germany, most probably the sweet pizzas with Smarties or white chocolate and strawberries ... mmmmh. On the second day we looked at Rio again from above, and indeed we are went by train to the Corcovado and Cristo have visited. This was then actually has the right Touri typical program and completed the afternoon I moved into my new place already. Oh and the shopping center in Botafogo Praia, there are even Starbucks. On Sunday morning I was quite excited for on the plan of the visit was at the Maracana stadium. Unfortunately, the enthusiasm did not last long, because after we bought the tickets and went to the elevator to the upper tier, we had to find that the stadium is already being renovated for the World Cup. We were in some museums in the center, cinema, theater, Every evening in Ipanema and cooked together. Last Friday we went by boat to Ilha de Paquetá. There was also quite nice and there were no cars but only horses and bicycles, but we realized that we are through Fortaleza beaches but very spoiled. Saturday afternoon we made together with Florian on the way to Niteroi. Niteroi is a fairly large city on the other side of Guanabara Bay, but the only thing you can see there is the contemporary Kunstmuseum designed by Oscar Niemeyer eum, like a flower ... (right photo) with plenty of imagination. Otherwise, there was however not too much admire. Sunday was a very nice day. We have 3 of us for breakfast in the School of Visual Arts (left) hit - thus a good start - we were able Parque, a really beautiful park with many hidden ponds, caves and a castle and then type in the botanical garden.

The nightlife in time we have explored a little. One evening we were in Gávea, there were really many young people just in one place and have been drinking, then we were at a Roda de Samba. In just a samba school were so many people (photo) and all were in good spirits and the beat and just have a great atmosphere spread. Now I'm looking forward to early March.

Monday evening I was then again at Mara cook until it has also adopted in Rio. Since Monday I'm doing internship, but I'll write about it next time ...
